THIS IS WHY your vote is so incredibly important. Do your research, choose the right person so Kentucky animals will benefit from your choice.
This can be confusing because your residence is actually in several different districts. The button below will give you both the place you will vote and all the districts you are in.
🐾Call your county clerks office if you live in the county to find out what Magistrate district you live in.
🐾 If you live inside city limits, you will vote for City Commissioners instead of Magistrates.

Notice some counties have several to choose from. That is because our state is divided up in to districts so each Legislator has about the same amount of people to represent.

A Primary Election is a pre election used to narrow the amount of Candidates for a given elective office so there is only one in each party to choose from for the general election.
🐾 It is important to remember that in the Primary Election you can only vote for a Candidate in the party you are registered for.
For example: In the PRIMARY ELECTION A Democrat can only vote for a Democrat and a Republican can only vote for a Republican.
Your Primary Election ballot will only have your districts candidates listed that you are able to vote for.
🐾 In the General Election you can vote for any Candidate even if they are not your registered political party. The General Election ballot will only have your districts Candidates from both parties listed for you to choose from.

They are able to vote on ordinances that can benefit your areas animals and their welfare. Knowing your magistrate or commissioners will give you the opportunity to have conversations and make suggestions about the issues that affect the animals in your area.
Magistrates and City Commissioners can create ordinances that will help protect the animals and citizens in your area.
They are also the ones that decide WHO will run your Animal Shelter. If you do not like the way your shelter is being ran, you would want to talk to your City Commissioners and Magistrates about change.
In some cases if you have an issue and a solution, you may want to address the fiscal court and the City Commissioners meetings to purpose a plan for positive change.
